GRADE 10 $24.15-$27.18/hr. FLSA: Non-Exempt
I. QUALIFICATIONS
- Education/Experience
- Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field with 3 years’ experience
- High School diploma with 5 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field.
- Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas and basic data analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, cash applications, and collections.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial records
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and follow up on outstanding balances in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve billing issues.
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less.
- Ability to legally operate a vehicle in New York State
II. RESPONSIBLE TO: Controller
III. MAJOR FUNCTIONS
- Collect and record incoming payments (checks, ACH, cash) from multiple sources and apply to the appropriate accounts (program revenue, grants, and contributions).
- Work closely with Billing Specialist to properly record receivables, denials, and payments for Managed Care/Medicaid claims.
- Manage daily cash receipts and ensure timely bank deposits.
- Maintain accurate records of monthly revenue and outstanding receivables.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Maintain proper documentation to support audits and ensure compliance with grantor and regulatory requirements.
- Provide documentation and schedules for annual audits and financial reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance team and overall organizational objectives.
